Flower is one of if not the best albums I've ever listened to.

WITH THAT INTRODUCTION OUT OF THE WAY.

Let me talk about Darling Sky, one of my personal favorite tracks from this great album.
(I really should have saved a long review for Heartbeat, my true favorite, I'll probably rewrite that review, it kinda sucked.)

This album started me getting really into your music and I really love this album for it's interesting odd style of drums and use of pop related samples. The odd voice-like synths(?) sample(?) sounding things sound great used in this song and fit the feeling the song seemed to have been going for.

The long stretched out somewhat distorted synth intro was executed great and when that (obviously) sampled guitar comes in along with that soft synth to build up the next part. OH is it good.

I do think the kick(?) at around 2:18 sounds a bit off for what the rest of the song has and it sounds like it has a bit too much... Treble? Don't really know, it sounds too much like percussion and less like a kick, probably what you were going for but I do think it sounds a little off.

I like how at 3:21 the song dials it back a bit and just brings in some hihats. Not many pop or really electronic songs nowadays use hihats like that (at least not from what I hear, I'm probably dumb lmao)

The ending is great, the change from claps to snare and long drawn out pads to make it sound sort of "old" is a great way to end off the song.

In conclusion I am bad at reviewing songs but I really like this one so tried my hand at it. I'm bad at finding things to critique and I tried my hardest but tearing apart something you love is harder than tearing apart something you hate.

This album really REALLY got me into your music, I hope to listen to (and review) more of your songs in the future!

P.S Sonic 3 & Knuckles is one of the greatest platformers of all time.

How the hell does a song give aids?

Of all the songs to say are "ugly" (great way to describe sound btw) it's this one?
Not my favorite one of yours but I'd certainly rather listen to this than marshmello.
I do think that the part where the drums come in is extremely loud and kind of out nowhere kind of loud, the build up really doesnt prepare you for how loud the drums truly get. But thats probably because i was listening on full volume.

I'd certainly prefer HELIG KVINNAN or Flower over this but i do appreciate this song as it did introduce me to you

certainly NOT my favorite song from you but not ear torture as some people say (other than listening at full volume that shits LOUD)

(also changing the song to c minor doesnt make it better lmao, it makes it a lot worse)

Anonymous this may not be, but it is still probably one of if not my favorite from UNIFICATION.

I do think this song has some flaws, mostly being insanely repetitive, and the part around nine minutes in sounding very empty almost bad MIDI quality. But I don't really mind as the song does build up very well ending in that saxophone (possible VST, I'm on to you Cacola) which was executed great. Love it, have listened to it multiple times already.

Cacola responds:

damn a proper review with like, the context of the song understood and analyzed, props dude, that's a rarity on NG. Extra kudos for actually listening to the album I made it for lol (the JAPAN song was better)
yea it's a bit repetitive but when u gotta reach 30 minutes some sacrifices have to made lol. I've made super long songs (50+ minutes) with very little repetition and it took over a fucking year so I did a different approach on this one lol. I understand what u mean though. I wanted to do like a sonic 3 soundtrack version of Long Season by Fishmans (look it up amazing album fully worth your time) so yea the midi thing was my idea on purpose.

Saxophone solo was made with this gucci ass kontackt library so you found me out on that one

thanks man glad you liked it! ♥

Really love this song, don't really have much to say, not my favorite song on the album but I love it either way, I loved the sampling of songs and how they all flowed together in the end.

(Question, is that genesis style samples near the end of the song?)

Cacola responds:

that was a vst that imitates genesis fm synthesis actually.
Thank you very much! <3
